How to Add a Grok Bot Template

The clean setup path from a public Grok Bot share link to a tested copy in your own workspace.

Start from the official share page

Open the template’s source link and review the public preview. The page should identify the bot and show an Add to Grok Bot action. If a directory listing does not lead to an official x.ai share page, treat it as a description rather than an installable template.

Adding the template creates your own copy. The original creator’s computer, accounts, and conversations do not move with it.

Complete the setup

After adding the copy, connect only the apps the job requires. Read the identity, instructions, skills, routines, and automation schedule before granting access.

  • Confirm the bot’s job matches the work you want it to own.
  • Connect the minimum set of apps and accounts.
  • Remove or rewrite instructions that do not fit your workflow.
  • Keep sending, publishing, deleting, purchasing, and production changes behind approval.

Run one manual test

Give the bot one real but low-risk task. Check the sources it used, the actions it took, and the output it returned. A successful install only proves the configuration copied; it does not prove the workflow is reliable.

Turn on recurring routines or automations after the manual run produces a result you can audit.
